Talk:Organic SEO Wiki
From Organic SEO Wiki
Your Wiki has a major discrepancy:
"Please note that all contributions to Organic SEO Wiki are considered to be released under the GNU Free Documentation License" -- Editorial pages
"People wanting to use the content that comes about from this project must get expressed written consent before using it on their own sites." -- About page
Contributors are put under the impression they are contributing to a free GPL project. But, in the second quote from the about page, you claim the ownership of rights to _their_ work. So, which is it? 80.43.178.212
removed the part about getting permission
Until I figure out what's best for the wiki, I removed the line about getting permission on the About page, I still want to be able to provide a PDF of the wiki for $10. Not sure if I can do that if it's GPL'd.
- Yes, you can:
- "2. VERBATIM COPYING
- You may copy and distribute the Document in any medium, either
- commercially or noncommercially, provided that this License, the
- copyright notices, and the license notice saying this License applies
- to the Document are reproduced in all copies, and that you add no other
- conditions whatsoever to those of this License. You may not use
- technical measures to obstruct or control the reading or further
- copying of the copies you make or distribute. However, you may accept
- compensation in exchange for copies. If you distribute a large enough
- number of copies you must also follow the conditions in section 3.
- You may also lend copies, under the same conditions stated above, and
- you may publicly display copies." - http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.txt
Great!
That's cool, so copies of it you can charge for as long as in one form or another it's free.
Sounds better now. Thanks for posting that.
